There's more to pharmacy than meets the eye.

What most people see of pharmacy is only part of the picture.

Among health care professionals, pharmacists are the drug experts. They understand how a medication heals, how it can hurt, and how it reacts with food and other drugs. They know its desired effects and its side effects.

With a professional degree in pharmacy, your opportunities are endless. Besides a community pharmacy, you can work for a hospital, a home health care agency, a nursing home, an HMO, a pharmaceutical research company, a government health agency, or a college.

As a pharmacist, you can use your knowledge about drugs and dosages to dispense prescription medications, counsel patients, advise physicians about the right drug to prescribe, help hospitals pick the drugs they'll use for their patients, or help develop new drugs in a research company.

We encourage you to visit the University of Michigan and tour the College of Pharmacy. To set up an appointment, call (734) 764-5550.
